Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and volunteering in the community. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon, who took care of him at the farm they owned in Eufala. In football, he played with his three brothers for Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was one of the top linemen in all of the nation. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. The team also took home the national title twice. As a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded an award for his third time in the year 1975. Selmon obtained his master's degree in educational studies. Fourth service In college Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. After graduation, he landed in Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers played an all-pro three times before beginning an entrepreneurial career. His first job was as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He was a member on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the most prominent young men across the nation. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch taller and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as player, commanded his team throughout 1975. In 1993, he was appointed the athletic director's assistant at the University of South Florida. In 1988, he was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into an appearance in the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded its Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
