Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a rare pop phenomenon: A pop star that has crossed the line completely from country music to pop culture, becoming a pop icon lasting for a lifetime and capturing the hearts of millions throughout the world. Swift has shed her roots in traditional music as if she was a new layer, revealing herself as the most savvy pop singer/songwriter in her time. Swift was able harness the current zeitgeist and make it her personal. This was evident in her early hits including the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album of 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering the person she really was, and in the process finding masses of fans. Fearless ended up having a significant reach not just in the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles on the foundation of Top Ten hits Love Story and I Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well with Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift could build on her popularity with Speak Now almost two year later. Over the next three years, Swift's fame grew with the release of three albums -three times - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) and 1989 (2014-2015) -- as Swift entered the realm of pop, where her abilities were already well established. She continued to be at the forefront of pop music even though she cut back on her appearance with her sibling albums folklore in the year 2020, and Evermore.
