Following Justin Bieber's bilingual remix to Despacito (2017) well-known artists began to collaborate with reggaeton performers including Drake along with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna together with Maluma for Medellin (2019). In 2020, several Reggaeton musicians were complaining about the advancing of the genre toward the mainstream.
