Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is an Canadian actress from Canada. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making her the second-youngest winner to win an award within Oscar history. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress playing the enthusiastic and curious girl who played Holly Hunter's leading character in The Piano. The part of Flora McGrath - the daughter of a Scottish muffled pianist from New Zealand at mid-19th Century was hers at an open audition. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played the lead role in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in the year. Paquin was in the role of Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a smaller role. She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played the polexia Aphrodisa groupie as part of Almost Famous (2000).
